Jameel House of Traditional Arts / Cairo annual exhibition

The annual exhibition of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts / Cairo presents work by graduates of the two-year traditional arts programme; this year’s highlights include a Mamluk chandelier and ceramics evoking medieval Islamic motifs, among other works.

The exhibition opens on September 5 at 7pm at the Jameel House, when the 22 students, whose work is on display, will also graduate in a ceremony attended by Dr Fathy Abdel Wahab, head of the Cultural Development Fund, Dr Khaled Azzam, deputy executive director of the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, and representatives of Art Jameel.

The exhibition is free and open to all, and after the opening runs daily, from September 8-12, 10am-3pm.

The Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo is located here, in the Fustat Traditional Crafts Centre, 1 El Emam Street, beside Amr ibn El Aas Mosque, Fustat, Old Cairo.
