Exploring materiality as a central concern in contemporary art practice, this publication was produced on the occasion of the first group exhibition drawn from the Art Jameel Collection, of the same title. Featuring an introduction by Dawn Ross alongside short texts on the exhibited works, the publication reflects on the diverse ways artists engage with materials, processes and making. Departing from the conventional exhibition catalogue format, it takes the form of 18 illustrated postcards, each dedicated to a single artwork in the exhibition.
